A trip to Germany started it all. A passionate exploration into why American beer tastes so different from the liquid gold Woz (that’s him on the left) experienced in Bavaria. It led him to design an analytical way of reviewing beer based on its quality and how faithfully it matches its style.

Several years later Woz began brewing, with a passion for the craft and a goal to respect brewing traditions while challenging what beer can and should be. He has critically evaluated thousands of beers and continues his beer education through sensory perception training, off-flavor detection, brewing methods, and in-depth research into every one of beer’s ingredients.
